Instrumentation and collection

OpenTelemetry engineering services

Create vendor-neutral telemetry pipelines that remain reliable under load and keep backend choices open.

Outcome 1Consistent metrics, logs and traces
Outcome 2Backend-independent instrumentation
Outcome 3Reliable Collector pipelines
Outcome 4Controlled telemetry volume and cost
What we solve

Production engineering, not a product demo

We help teams instrument applications, deploy Collector architectures and govern sampling, enrichment, routing and cost.

Every engagement starts with current-state evidence, explicit assumptions and measurable acceptance criteria. The result is documented so your team can own it.

Service scope

From architecture to daily operations

Choose a focused assessment or combine workstreams into an implementation and enablement programme.

Instrumentation strategy

  • Service priorities
  • Semantic conventions
  • Auto versus manual instrumentation
  • Trace and metric quality

Collector architecture

  • Agent and gateway patterns
  • Kubernetes deployment
  • Queues, retries and load balancing
  • High availability

Data governance

  • Filtering and enrichment
  • Tail and head sampling
  • Sensitive-data controls
  • Multi-backend routing

Operations

  • Collector self-monitoring
  • Pipeline load testing
  • Failure-mode testing
  • Adoption roadmap and training
Delivery model

A controlled path to production

Each stage produces a reviewable result before the next decision.

Assessment

Goals, workload and constraints.

Architecture

Design, sizing and acceptance criteria.

Pilot

Validate on representative data.

Implementation

Deploy, integrate and migrate.

Enablement

Documentation and hands-on training.

Support

Operate, measure and improve.

Questions

Common project questions

Does OpenTelemetry replace a backend?

No. It standardizes instrumentation and collection; telemetry still needs suitable storage and analysis backends.

Can you introduce it gradually?

Yes. We normally start with selected services and preserve existing exporters during validation.

Can one pipeline send to several backends?

Yes. Routing, duplication and failover patterns can be designed explicitly, with attention to cost and delivery guarantees.
